Making History: LGGS Pupil Becomes First Female Army Cadet to Win the Oglesby‑Wellings Sword

We are incredibly proud to share that Holly has become the first-ever LGGS pupil and the first female Army cadet to be awarded the prestigious Oglesby‑Wellings Sword.

This honour was presented at last month’s LRGS CCF Sword Parade, recognising Holly’s outstanding dedication, leadership, and commitment to the CCF.

We extend our sincere thanks to Professor Oglesby and Mr Wellings, who travelled from Sheffield to present the sword in memory of their son, OL Giles Oglesby‑Wellings.

A truly significant and well‑deserved achievement.
