A Level Results Day 2025

We are delighted to celebrate the A Level successes of all of our Year 13 students today.

They have been an amazing year group who have not only worked hard and with great determination over the last two years, but who also created a positive and supportive student community in which every member of the year group quickly found their place and was able to thrive. We know some of our students have had to overcome significant barriers to achieve what they have done this summer, and their resilience and determination has been inspirational.

Overall, an impressive 40% of all grades have been A* to A with 70% of students achieving grades A* to B.

These outcomes mean that students have secured places at their chosen universities to study a wide range of courses including Medicine, Dentistry, Vet Science, Architecture, Maths, PPE, Geography, Psychology, Sports Science, Economics, Software Engineering, Midwifery and Paramedic Science.

It has been very pleasing to see the students who joined LGGS Sixth Form in Year 12 from other high schools in the Lancaster area and also from further afield achieving impressive results which will now take them on to study subjects as varied as Music, Dentistry, Law and International Disaster Management.

Julie Dobson, Head of Sixth Form at LGGS, praised students who she said had worked incredibly hard to achieve these amazing results.

She said:

“The outstanding results they have achieved this summer will enable our students to set off with confidence on the next steps of their journey. These impressive results are a tribute to the hard work undertaken by the students themselves. Well done!”

Chris Beard, Headteacher at LGGS said:

“Congratulations to Year 13 students for their amazing results today. They have worked incredibly hard and have shown resilience, creativity, and passion throughout their time with us. We wish them all the very best for the future, and we look forward to seeing what they do next, as they make their next steps”
