Leadership

We offer a wide variety of opportunities so that all students are supported to develop their leadership qualities, whether this be as part of the Sixth Form Leadership Team or the Sports Team, membership of the Sixth Form Council or as an academic or personal mentor for a younger student in school. The Sixth Form also offers numerous extra-curricular societies, all of which are student-led, and the success of the strong House system at LGGS is due to the leadership, energy and commitment of the Sixth Form House Captains: each year they lead and inspire students in KS3 and KS4 to take part in events such as the school’s Performing Arts Festival, the Music Festival, and Sports Day. We know that our younger students are inspired to be the best they can be by our wonderful Sixth Form leaders, and we hope they will soon be steeping into those shoes themselves when they choose to join LGGS Sixth Form.

Welcome from our Head Student

P1000234

Without LGGS, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. The support, experiences and opportunities that I have been provided with at LGGS have shaped me as a person. For me, this school is like a home from home; LGGS is the most caring and welcoming community, allowing you to settle in the moment you walk through the door.

During my time here, I have experienced so many wonderful opportunities. We have many societies, leadership roles and extracurricular clubs that everyone can get involved with. There really is something for everyone – and if there isn’t, just ask for it! The possibilities are endless here. These roles and experiences not only allow you to build your confidence, but allow you to make memories that you will treasure.

The prospect of starting A levels can seem very daunting. With the change from GCSEs to A levels comes a lot of pressure, but the support from school will make it a much smoother transition for you. I remember feeling very nervous about this, but it really is exciting to study subjects you love, at a deeper level. Although LGGS will allow you to flourish academically, there is a core belief that education is more than just academic, and wellbeing and enjoyment is very much valued here. There’s always a friendly face round the corner if it ever feels a bit much, and you will soon come to see that asking for help is the best thing you can do for yourself and for your future; there’s never a problem too big or too small for the Sixth Form team to solve! I am sure you’ll find that you’ll thrive both academically and personally at LGGS.

The decision to come to LGGS for your Sixth Form years will definitely be one of the best you ever make. This school equips you perfectly for the next stage of life. We can’t wait to welcome you to our LGGS Sixth Form family. Make the most of everything that comes your way, cherish the memories and try your best. Good luck!
