Information Communication Technician
Are you taking on an IT Apprentice, or looking to upskill an existing employee?
As a Main Provider of apprenticeship training, we can offer British Computer Society (BCS) accredited training and support for your apprentice.
The typical duration of training is 18 months, but this will be dependent on your apprentice and employer requirements.
The course comprises of a portfolio of work, a synoptic project and an end point assessment Interview.

Recommended Entry Requirements:
- Five GCSEs, (especially English, Mathematics and a Science or Technology subject)
- A relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship; other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills
Apprentices will undertake a Digital Skills Diagnostic Assessment and a Level 2 Maths and English Functional skills Assessment.
Role Profiles
Overview
An Information Communications Technician provides support to internal and/or external customers, by using tools or systems to problem solve and trouble-shoot routine and non-routine problems. This occupation supports clients/customers with their systems. They achieve this through monitoring and maintaining the systems and/or platforms to maximise productivity and user experience.
These Apprenticeships are ideal for:
- Help Desk Technicians
- First/Second-Line Support Technicians
- IT Infrastructure Technicians
- Network Support Technicians
