One to One Device Programme for Enhanced Learning 2023
Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School are committed to providing the best learning experience for our students, and preparing them for the wider world outside of school. We strongly believe that this means providing pupils with access to technology.
We want to provide each and every pupil with their own personalised learning device which they can use at school and at home.
Why we are running this scheme?
First and foremost, it is about the learning and not about the technology.
Having their own learning device helps students get seamless access to lesson resources which are designed to make the most of technology. Being competent with technology is becoming increasingly important in the wider world and we want to ensure students are as prepared as possible for a digital society. There have been numerous studies that suggest students enjoy and gain more from their learning when they are given frequent and consistent access to technology.
We began our move to a 'One-to-one' devices scheme to enhance learning in 2021 with our current Year 8 students and plan to continue this with our new Year 7 in September 2023.
