Printing and Photocopying (updated 27/07/2022)

We are changing the way we print in school and from home. The following Konicas will be fitted with a card reader, which will read your lunch card. On first use, you will need to put your network username and password into the Konica. This will then link the card to your account.

Printing in school on a School Networked device

Staff only - You will no longer be required to input a department code when printing in the staffroom. The system will automatically link the job to your account, which you can access with your username/password using the following link PaperCut Login for Lancaster Girls' Grammar School

Photocopying in School

When you want to photocopy, using one of the listed Konica Photocopiers, simply scan your lunch card and away you go.

All other Konicas will require your usual department code, for now.

Printing from your One to One device (in school or at home)

On your one to one device you will need to install two Mobility Printers, by clicking this link and following the instructions. You will then see

The first time you send a print job to one of these you will need to log in using your Network Username and Password, your laptop will remember this so you don’t have to log in each time you want to print. This print job will be queued ready for when you want to release it.

When you go to any of the listed Konica Photocopiers in school you can scan your lunch card and release your print job. Print Jobs are held for 24hrs or until printed.

Timetables and Outlook calendar

From September, your class timetable for academic year 2022/23 will show in your Outlook calendar. This applies to both Teachers and Students.

Microsoft 365 & Teams - Staff FAQs (Updated 19/07/22)

  • Can I keep my Year 10 or 12 from this year and have a new Year 10 or 12 class next Year also? Yes, last years Y10 & Y12 Teams will not be archived, but will not managed by the system. All other SIMS created Groups and Teams will be archived and marked as 'Expired'  from 31-08-22. These will be 'read only' and will have a prefix of Exp0822. Groups and Teams you create yourself are unaffected. This will be implemented at the end of July.
  • If a Team is archived, how to I then access its content or how do the pupils access the resources from this year’s TEAMs area? In TEAMs click Manage Teams > Expand "Archived"  > find the Team (with a prefix of Exp0822) > select more options  ... >  Restore Team.
  • Are TEAMs automatically created?  Is this from SIMS?  Do teachers have to create any TEAMS themselves? As last year, Groups and Teams will be created from SIMS for classes, forms and houses. These will have a prefix of 2022. However, this cannot be done until SIMS has moved to the new academic year.
  • What date do the new TEAMs get created – This is schduled to be before the September INSET days.  What does this mean for teachers who choose to work on this over the summer – should they keep all this work on One drive of a staff only SharePoint ready  to move to the TEAMS once set up? Yes, Teams can only be created once all the relevant data is in SIMS. This may take a couple of days to implement.
  • Do I need to do anything or does it all happen behind the scenes?  SIMS created groups and Teams membership will be updated by the system each day between 1am and 2am. You can create your own groups and Teams, but you will have to manage them yourself.
  • Can i copy my files from previous Teams or OneNote notebooks? Yes, Move or copy files in Teams or import OneNote content
