Open Evening Speech
One of the first things I noticed at LGGS was all the opportunities which are on offer. I made sure to try out all the clubs in my first week and there were so many. Mondays and Thursdays I went to Senior Choir and I had a go at hockey – even though I was new, everyone was so welcoming and I made a lot of new friends. If you’re worried about making friends at the Girls’ Grammar, don’t because there are so many events where everyone can get together and get creative. Like the festivals for example. I heard so much about the Junior Drama and getting involved has been such a good choice.

I am definitely looking forward to the Music Festival as well – the school band and orchestra are also good fun for mixing with the younger years.
Another thing I noticed was how many school trips there are. Already I have been offered a German exchange trip – the school choir and band were included in this – a French exchange trip, and lots of Art trips to London, Liverpool and even Paris.
There is even a trip to Barbados for the hockey team. There is so much to do and I wholly recommend that you get involved in at least one club.
