| Entering into my seventh and final year at LGGS is a very bittersweet experience for me; I am incredibly excited to apply to and then begin university, but will also be extremely sad to have to leave such a wonderful school that has given me, and all of its pupils, such fantastic opportunities. I am so grateful to have the chance as Head Girl to give something back to the school. Year 12 was certainly the busiest and best year of my school career so far; I loved being able to study my selected subjects in such depth whilst also taking part in numerous extracurricular activities. At LGGS sixth form students are entrusted with the responsibility of organising important events such as Junior Drama and Music Festival, which are not only so much fun but also great ways to develop leadership skills whilst forming new friendships with girls from all different years. The number and variety of clubs and societies available to the sixth form ensure that the challenge of AS levels are made manageable and school is not solely a place for academic study; there is an invaluable focus on enrichment in the sixth form which prepares pupils for the challenges of applying to university and life after LGGS. Sixth Form Council is an essential part of Sixth Form Life, and being Head of it has given me the chance to give something back to the school that has shaped me into who I am today. In addition, attending the Governors’ meetings have been an eye opening experience from which I have been able to learn about our school in a whole new light, as well as make contributions on a much wider scale. And of course, being part of the Sixth Form Leadership Team has been brilliant. It gives me such a sense of belonging to the school and will always hold fond memories. I feel really privileged to be at the centre of the LGGS community and look forward to the challenges this final year will bring." G Nair Head of the Sixth Form Council and Student Observer Being part of the Sixth Form Leadership team has given me a great opportunity to become more involved with LGGS. After only being here a year it is now a privilege to be able to meet and help people in the same position I was in such as short time ago. It has been brilliant having a different insight into school life. My time with the team has helped me develop as person and prepare me for my years ahead. C Armit Head of Transition |
