Scientific method is about developing and evaluating explanations through experimental evidence and modelling. Through science we hope pupils will gain an understanding of how major scientific ideas contribute to technological change- impacting on industry, business and medicine and improving quality of life.
We are developing courses which include a wide range
of learning experiences including practical work, extended investigations, the opportunity to express their views and discuss controversial issues, visiting speakers, overseas visits and other extra-curricular opportunities we want pupils to recognise the cultural significance of science
and how to question and discuss science based issues that may affect their own lives and the direction of society and the future of the world. Many of our students continue to study science, engineering and medicine beyond school and for those students we aim to prepare them
as thoroughly as possible for the courses they undertake.
