GCSE Results 2011

Well done to all our Year 11 students for their very pleasing GCSE results. The A*-C pass rate is 99.1% with the percentage of grades at A* and A 76.4%. The average point score per student is the best ever for the school at 626.7. Four students achieved
A* grades in all 11.5 GCSEs, E Fox, Z Harding,
I Mechie and R Paracha. A further eleven girls gained A* grades in 10 GCSEs, K Browne,
F Darlington, R Egerton, C Farey, A Harrison,
K Johnes, N Kotonya, L Lees, M McHugh,
A Rice and H Winstanley.

Out of 113 students in the year group, 95 gained at least 5 of their GCSE grades at A*-A and an impressive 39 students gained 11 GCSEs at A*-A. In addition, a number of students studied for additional qualifications at lunch time and after school. 18 students achieved high grades in AS Critical Thinking and 18 students successfully completed BTEC Dance including 5 Distinctions and 10 Merits.

Thank you for LGGS staff for their dedication and commitment and to LGGS parents for their support. The English results were especially outstanding with over 90% of grades in both English Language and English Literature at A*-A.

Many congratulations to Year 11 for these excellent results which reflect the year group's positive attitude and hard work. We look forward to welcoming them back to our sixth form.
