A Level Results 2011

Congratulations to our 2011 A level students on their fantastic results. The students can feel very proud of their achievements at A level. Thank you to the staff at LGGS for their hard work and dedication as well as to the students' families for all their support. 148 students sat A level examinations this year and our overall pass rate is 99.8%. The percentage of A*- B grades is an excellent 78.2 %. 56 girls achieved at least 3 A levels at Grade A or A*. 16.6% of grades were at A* with particularly high numbers of students achieving these grades in Maths, History, Chemistry, Biology and English Literature. 49 students gained at least one of their A levels at grade A * with a further 47 students gaining at least one of their A levels at grade A standard.
In addition to their successes at A level, 66 students gained the Extended Project Qualification, which is equivalent to half an A level and involves the student undertaking independent research. 36 of these were graded at A* and A. 28 students were awarded the AQA Baccalaureate which recognises both academic achievements and enrichment activities, with seventeen students gaining a distinction.

While recognising the achievements of all our students, I would like to mention a number of outstanding results.
