Spanish Exchange 2010
Twenty nine girls from years 10 and 12, accompanied by Señorita Whitehouse, Señora Martin and Señorita Sandbach, spent a fantastic week in the Vall d’Uixó with their exchange partners.
It did not take long for the girls to lose their inhibitions and “get stuck in” with the Spanish language and customs, and by the end of the week they had firm friendships, a wider Spanish vocabulary, a desire to eat a sandwich at 10am and a good feel for the local fiestas!
Highlights of the trip included a visit to the historical caves of San José, a trip to the centre Valencia and the aquarium and a wonderful reception from the mayor, where the girls rose to stardom and were filmed and broadcast on the local news! The trip gave them a real insight into the culture of this beautiful region, from running bulls to speaking valenciano, and a great time was had by all.
“A memory that will last a life time. I had an outstanding time and enjoyed myself beyond enjoyment! A second home, a second family, a second exchange needed!!!” Antonia, Year 10
