Holocaust Memorial Day
The History Department invited comments from pupils in response to the statement; ‘the lesson of history should be that we appreciate the sanctity of human life.’ Read more
Local Legends - English Literature Project
LGGS pupils presented Midland Hotel concierge with copies of their booklet of poems about the famous Eric Gill relief during their recent visit to the hotel. Read more
Magistrates Court Competition
A team of Year 8 & 9 pupils took part in the local heat of the Magistrates’ Court Competition. They prepared the defence and prosecution. Read more
Opt Into Learning Evening
All year 9 pupils enjoyed an 'Opt into Learning' presentation by Impact Universal on January 16th. Read more
Oxford Admissions Evening
On Monday 23rd February (the first day back after half term) we have arranged an
Oxford admissions evening for parents and students.

On 26th January, two English Undergraduates, originally from the North West; visited from Queen’s University, Belfast to promote their University and subject. Read more
Routes Into The Nuclear Industry
Eight students from LGGS’ Lower Sixth Form, were invited to attend a 'Routes into the Nuclear Industry' career event at Springfields Fuels Ltd, Preston. Read more
Visit to History Department
Year 11 history students welcomed Mr Barski to our school, he described growing up in Nazi occupied Poland and becoming part of the Polish resistance movement. Read more
World Book Day
World Book Day was a great succes with our pupils dressing up as their favourite book character. Read more and more
Year 10 Citizenship Day

The day included, health related sessions, Y11 exams and how young people could put themselves at risk and 'thinking skills' to help with studies. Read more
