Lancaster Girls' Grammar School
|
The Music department aims to help every girl fulfil her musical potential, from simply learning to sing in tune, to gaining a place at university or music college with a view to taking up a professional career in music, via GCSE and A-level studies.
We take great care to provide musical activities appropriate to the talent and experience of individual girls. Class lessons are designed to be practical and fun, yet challenging, enabling the beginner to learn quickly while the advanced player continues to be stretched.
We try to be part of the sound-track that accompanies school life, so girls frequently perform to each other in assemblies.
At the end of the year, the Music Festival brings all the girls together in several weeks of preparation, culminating in a day-long festival and evening concert. Definitely practical, definitely challenging, and deafeningly fun!
