Lancaster Girls' Grammar School
|
Our primary aim and objective is to deliver a richly rewarding curriculum through very high standards of teaching and learning, allowing the girls to fulfil their potential within the subject, irrespective of their ability.
We hope to instil confidence and self belief, aim to stimulate, as well as developing a whole variety of skills which will hopefully prove to be highly beneficial in their other studies and preparation for when they leave school. The curriculum actively encourages pupils to develop Mathematics as a way of thinking and as a language which readily allows the effective communication of ideas. Our pupils are well versed in working in a wide variety of styles and methods, where open endedness, active participation, logical thinking, willingness to pursue new ideas beyond their current level and developing effective ways of visualising and thinking more generally are inherent within the teaching.
