In an interview for the Chicago Tribune in 1916, the U.S. automobile industrialist Henry Ford, said; “History is more or less bunk. It's tradition. We don't want tradition. We want to live in the present and the only history that is worth a tinker's dam is the history we made today.” Here in the History Department at LGGS we can’t live without it!
The department seeks to ask and answer important questions of the present by helping students to engage with the past. Imagination is fired up and curiosity stirred to help students developed their own identity through understanding history at personal, local, national and international levels.
