About LGGS

Established in 1907 at the Storey
Institute, LGGS has occupied the
current site between Regent Street,
Queen Street, High Street and Lindow Square since 1913. We are a selective state school with a very strong
academic record. However, we also
place great emphasis on the
development of the "whole person".

We currently have around nine hundred girls on roll including approximately
three hundred and twenty in the
Sixth Form. Almost all of our Year 11 students continue their AS/A2 studies
at LGGS with seventy to ninety girls from other 11-16 and 11-18 schools joining
us in Year 12. The School is heavily
over-subscribed and has a happy,
relaxed atmosphere.

Parents particularly value the way in
which we are able to maintain high academic standards and still provide
and encourage a full range of
extra-curricular activities to enable students to become mature,
confident adults.

More about the School's history can
be found on this website as well as the latest news, events and school information.
