Wellbeing in the Sixth Form

Students have one hour of timetabled ‘wellbeing’ activities per week in the Sixth Form. This is the chance to take a break from work and engage in activities that promote general wellbeing and happiness.  It could be physical activity, something creative or making a difference to the local community.  Whatever option you chose, the purpose is the same, to establish habits that allow you to take time out from your studies and promote a positive way of relaxing that will support you in your adult life.

You may select one option from the following:
  • PE (A range of indoor and outdoor activities)
  • Yoga
  • Cooking and Baking (previous sessions have inclded cooking on a budget or cake making)
  • Archives (working with the school librarian on the back catalogue of historical materials)
  • Board games (have fun and relax with friends playing games)
  • Colouring and creative activities (Colouring is proven to promote mindfulness or you may want to engage in other creative activities e.g. sketching, poetry writing or reading, creative writing)
  • Volunteering (please see the Sixth Form Enrichment tab for further details)

You will need to secure your own placement but it is suggested that you engage with anything that makes a positive difference to your local community).
