Sixth Form Mission Statement

At Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School Sixth Form we nurture every individual student in our care and support them on to finding their place in the adult world as happy, healthy, fulfilled young people, ready for their future.

We pride ourselves on the wealth of opportunities that are available to all students, regardless of whether they joined the school in Year 7 or Year 12, and also on the high level of personal care that we provide.  We will get to know you and you will get to know us.

We have the advantages of a large and hugely successful grammar school but also the community feel of a smaller school.  There is no better place to study for your A-levels.

The relationships you develop here, with your friends and your teachers, and those you go on to develop with the top universities and employers, will support you to be who you want to be. Our curriculum has its basis in academic excellence but also seeks to develop accomplished young people who will be sought-after by employers.  This is a hard-working environment where you will be challenged but it is also a place of immense fun and camaraderie.  As the oldest students in the school you will lead on a vast array of LGGS traditions, including sporting and performing arts events, and will make memories that the younger pupils will look back on in years to come.

LGGS Sixth Formers display a genuine love of learning, respect for one another and they aspire to be the best people they can be.  Moreover our Alumnae look back fondly on their time at LGGS, often coming back to share their experiences with current students. The LGGS Sixth Form foundation still shines through in everything they have to say, whatever their experience:

Care ... Contribute ... Challenge
