Year 7 Admissions

We are delighted that you are considering applying for a place at Lancaster Girls' Grammar School.

All girls wishing to enter the School in Year 7 are required to sit our 11+ Entrance Test. This took place on Saturday 30th September 2023 (2024 intake).

Places are offered to girls based on the admission tests, and more information is in our admissions policy below.

Familiarisation materials for the 11+ Entrance Test are available to download from the GL Assessment website.  Please note, Non Verbal Reasoning is not tested at Lancaster Girls' Grammar School.

If your daughter has been eligible for Pupil Premium at primary schools then you can contact us and request log in details.

We will just need to collect some information from you and check Pupil Premium eligibility with your daughter’s current primary school. 

The online materials include how to prepare for the Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning tests. The materials are very pupil friendly and include quizzes and practice materials.  Eligible families must register their interest in using the online familiarisation service by 12th July 2024 at the latest.

Following the 11+ test results, parents are required to submit their Secondary School preferences to the local authority.
