Spanish
Why Spanish?
From Shakira to Xavi, Perú to Panamá and fajitas to flamenco, we aim to teach a broad curriculum which highlights the cultural diversity and the inimitable vibrancy of the Spanish speaking world.
Did you know?
Spanish is the world's second most spoken language, after Chinese, and is the second most used language in international communication. By 2030, 7.5% of the world's population will be native Spanish speakers, approximately 535 million people! Will Smith, Gary Lineker, David Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow all speak Spanish, and so could you!
Outside of the classroom
We aim to give pupils lots of opportunity to practise and learn Spanish in different contexts. Pupils have the chance to compete in competitions, attend theatre visits, cinema visits and immerse themselves in Spanish life through residential trips (previously we have visted Andalucía and Galicia) and the Spanish exchange with our partner school in La Vall D’Uixó (near Valencia).
