Welcome to Year 6 Pupils

A warm welcome

Settling in and making friends
Head Girl UNIFORM

Welcome to LGGS!
Thank you for choosing LGGS for your secondary school education. We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you settle into our school community.
We hope you are looking forward to starting with us in September 2019. The information on this page is help you get to know us a little before you start. It also tells you about some of the things we have planned for you before you even begin Year 7.

Primary school visits
We hope to visit as many of you as possible in your current primary school over the next few months. We will be making arrangements with your teachers to pop in and see you. This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about starting at LGGS.

Tea Party
This year we are welcoming pupils from over 70 different primary schools. Many of you will know other girls from your primary school who are also starting with us but some of you may be the only girls from your current school coming to LGGS. For these pupils we hold a special tea party so that you can get to know some other girls before you start with us. It’s also a chance for your parents to get to know other parents too. This is held on Wednesday June 5th at 4.30p.m. If you are eligible you will receive a separate invitation to join us for this event.

Information Evening for parents - Thursday 13th June at 7.00pm
The meeting is aimed at parents. Unfortunately, we don’t have room for you to come as well as parents. They will come back from this with all kinds of information to share with you about life at LGGS.

New Year 7 Welcome Day - Wednesday 26th June
This day will really help you settle into LGGS. You will spend the day with your form. You meet the form teacher as well as some of the sixth formers who will help you settle into school. It’s a fun day with lots of activities to help you get to know the school and each other.
